HICKORY — The Hickory Police Department will again partner with the Hickory Crawdads for National Night Out on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, the city said July 8.
Patrol vehicles from local departments will be parked outside L.P. Frans Stadium starting at 5 p.m. The city said participants will have the opportunity to meet local officers and other first responders. Members of HPD’s Special Operations Team, K9 Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, and Drone Unit are listed to attend and answer questions about their specialties.
The department invited the public to vote on who has the best patrol car among participating departments. Information on how to vote will be provided at the event, and the winner will be announced during the game.
The Crawdads face the Augusta GreenJackets starting at 7 p.m. Children 12 and under will be given a free ticket, a meal voucher, and a pass to the amusements. Tickets for anyone 13 and over can be purchased at https://tinyurl.com/4t6rw4n9.
The city said several events throughout the game will feature HPD officers, including an on-field K9 demonstration and various contests. Crawdads fans will be invited to participate in some of those events and should look for announcements during the game.
