What we do
We check the story against the original release or public filing. For material errors, we fix the story and add a dated correction note. Typos and broken links may be fixed without a note.
Correction vs. clarification
A correction fixes a factual error. A clarification may be added when a story was accurate but unclear.
Public filings
Accurate reporting of public filings will not be deleted merely because the subject dislikes it.
Who’s In Jail
We correct when the official roster is shown to be wrong, when a charge is dismissed and a written request is made with proof, or when a court orders it. We never charge a fee to remove or alter a booking item. See our Who’s In Jail Policy.
