Briefs are due Oct. 5. The board will discuss the plan Nov. 4–5 and hold a hearing Dec. 2–3 before a vote.

Superintendent Jennifer Griffin relayed Chairman Eric Davis’s report that proposals arrived June 25 and July 7; process and timeline were set for discussion Sept. 2–3.

The April 21 county notice says the Board of Commissioners approved merging Catawba County Schools, Hickory City Schools, and Newton-Conover City Schools into a Catawba Valley School District, now headed to the State Board of Education.
