HICKORY — Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism is again partnering with Lenoir-Rhyne University on the Hickory Summer Track Series, the City of Hickory said May 4, 2026.
Track and field meets are Thursdays, June 4–25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the LRU outdoor track. Participants earn points through the series. Anyone who competes on at least two dates is eligible for Age Group and Series Awards.
Listed events are the 1 mile, 100m, 400m, 4x100m, 800m, 200m, 2 miles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, high jump, pole vault, and discus.
Age divisions are 5 and under, 6–10, 11–14, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and 60 and older.
Registration is online for the series or for individual nights at runsignup.com/Race/NC/Hickory/HickorySummerTrackSeries. Cost is $10 per night or $30 for the series, plus online service fees. Online registration ends at 11 a.m. on each event day. In-person registration is 5 to 6:30 p.m. each night, with a $5 increase.
