The City of Hickory will close its offices on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, for Labor Day and reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 8:30 a.m. The Solid Waste Division and its collection services will operate on a normal schedule. Hickory Public Library — the Patrick Beaver Memorial main facility and the Ridgeview Branch — will be closed Sunday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 7. Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism administrative offices and all city recreation centers will be closed Monday; city parks remain open daily. The Police Department’s main lobby and Records Division will be closed Monday, with crash reports still available through the department’s online Crash Report Database.
