The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has released accountability results for the 2025-2026 school year, and Hickory City Schools says six of its schools met academic growth expectations: Oakwood Elementary, Viewmont Elementary, Grandview Middle, Northview Middle, Hickory Career & Arts Magnet, and Hickory High. Oakwood Elementary and HCAM each earned a B; HCAM has now earned a B School Performance Grade for a fourth consecutive year. Hickory High met growth while increasing its School Performance Score from 59 to 67, and Northview Middle met growth and moved from a D to a C after its score rose from 49 to 56. Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Griffin said, “We are encouraged by the progress we see across our schools. Having six schools meet academic growth expectations demonstrates the hard work taking place in our classrooms each day.”
